The Autumngaine is set near Stroud, about 2.75Â hours drive from the Sydney CBD.
There are two events, a 12hr and 6hr event with a mass start at 11am. The course has many tracks and has some nice trail run loops. This event would also be a great one for novices looking to do their first bush rogaine.
This is a first for Rogaining. We have never had an event at Stroud. The nearest we have come was the 2005 Anzac Rogaine at Nerong State Forest at Buladelah, which was won comfortably by Mike Hotchkis and David Rowlands.
This event sees us move outside of the sandstone country, with which we are all familiar. There’s no cliff lines to obstruct you, but there is plenty of good rogaining country punctuated by firetrails and creeks.
Keep an eye out for ruins of bridges and structures from the days before the area was declared a State Forest. You’re also likely to see plenty of goannas and hear plenty of lyrebirds.
Camping will be available on Friday and Saturday night at the Hash House and is included in your entry.
