Event overview
What else would you rather be doing on Valentine’s Day than adventuring with the LOVE-ly rogaining community?! The first rogaine of 2027 will be a 3 hour minigaine to be held at Hawks Nest, on Worimi Barray, about 60 minutes north of Newcastle on Sunday 14 February.
Open to teams or individuals, the course will include the stunning coastlines, pristine beaches and national park bushland surrounding Hawks Nest, plus urban and bush areas extending over the Singing Bridge to neighbouring Tea Gardens.
Beyond the draw of the beautiful landscape, out on course you’ll find coffee shops, cafes and playgrounds, plus open air showers and opportunities for a dip if it gets too hot!
The Hash House (start & finish area) will be located at Myall Park, a short walk from the surf club for a post event swim between the red and yellow flags.
Join us in February for:
✅ Beautiful beaches and dramatic headlands.
✅ National park, bushland, and quiet urban streets.
✅ Ample animal spotting opportunities (including dolphins and koalas).
✅ Post event snacks and drinks, included in your entry fee.

What is rogaining?
A fun team sport, navigating using map, compass and clues to visit as many checkpoints as possible within the time limit. It’s a “choose your own adventure” experience in outdoor environments where teams explore the course for as much or as little of the allocated time as they like.
Our sport is for all ages and fitness levels, from families walking with small children through to bushwalkers and runners. Rogaining encourages the development of strategy and navigational skills, fitness, and the ability to work in a team.
For more information, check out the Learning Centre.
