Read Julian Ledger's article about the extraordinary contribution of Bert Van Netten and Bob Gilbert here...

Bob Gilbert, Bert Van Netten and Ian Dempsey have found a wonderful and unique starting location. They have set an exciting map area with the help of fellow setters Dug Floyd and Neil Chappell.

The flora opens up into beautiful open spotted gums, some ancient strands of melalueca's and stunning spurs and gullies of gymea lillies. Sweeping water courses and broad open spurs will have you feeling like you have fallen in with the likes of Robin Hood. There are a myriad of vehicular and foot tracks on the map.

The tracks have some rare finds of million year old fossils and a petrified forest.

You may stumble across a wombat or two, or see the markings of a quoll.

Come and enjoy a wonderful location and celebrate the 25th anniversary. 6 hour event - good for novices / inexperienced map readers whilst still providing a challenge for experienced rogainers

12 hour event - a good transition to night navigation and 24 hour events while still offering a challenge for the more experienced rogainer.

The event will be held in the Sugarloaf Conservation Area and there will be a mass start at midday on Saturday 20th August.
