Lake Macquarie Rogaine 6 Hour or 12 Hour : 18 August 2012
Results are up on the website for the Lake Macquarie Rogaine. Many thanks again to all our volunteers and Bob Gilbert for putting on another great event.
“Gale force winds and cold conditions did not deter 373 competitors from setting out on this years rogaine at midday on 18 August. A challenging course with steep climbing, many cliff lines and how to include T&D made good route planning a necessary part of the preparation…”… read more from Bob
The RouteGadget is also up and running for this event.
Spring Rogaine 24 Hour or 15 Hour within 24 Hour : 6-7 October 2012
Online registration is now OPEN for this event. Please register here
The course setting team led by Michael Watts has been hard at work out at Wombeyan Caves setting the controls.
There will be a 24 Hour and a 15 within 24 Hour event, both starting at midday on Saturday.
(1) The 24 Hour event is open to everyone and incorporates the NSW Championships.
(2) For the 15 within 24 Hour event, your team has to spend a minimum of 9 hours at the hash house. This can be at any time in the 24 hour range and can be in two or more segments. Any segment has to be a minimum of 30 minutes duration.
Many people who want the experience of a longer rogaine and maybe want the challenge of some night navigation should consider the 15 in 24 Hour course. Consider also two 6 hour stints in the daylight hours, with a cosy dinner at the Hash House and a rest overnight before going again on Sunday morning.
“The 2012 Spring Rogaine will be held over the weekend of Sat 6th/Sun 7th of October. The rogaine area is generally well wooded with limited undergowth. Terrain varies from some areas of quite low relief to undulating to steep…” read more from Michael
Online entries for this rogaine close at 3am on Monday 1st October
ACTRA Night/Day Rogaine : 29/30 September 2012
ACTRA invites all NSWRA members, family and friends to join us for the ACTRA Night/Day Rogaine on 29/30 September. Come and experience the iconic Lake George approximately 1 hour from Canberra on the way to Sydney. There will be two events - A night time 6 hour event on Saturday 29 September (5-11pm) and a daytime 5 hour event the following day (10am-3pm). Go in one (or both) to hone those navigation skills before the NSW Champs!
The course caters for both the beginner and more experienced rogainer with open farmland and undulating bushland. Some of the high points provide some great scenic views of the area. Camping is permitted for those that wish to stay overnight.

NSW Rogainer of the Year Competition 2013
We are excited to announce a new competition for 2013.
To congratulate our best rogainers and to encourage your
participation, from 2013 NSWRA will run an annual Rogainer of the
Year competition. Briefly, this will allocate points to all
competitors in each category of an event as a proportion of the
winners’ score (i.e., maximum event score is 100). There will also
be an overall winner. In addition, if you volunteer at an event,
you’ll receive 75 points for each event up to a maximum of two
events. We’ll run this scoring system across our current entry
categories and events will be weighted to encourage participation in
our longer bush events.

30 Years of NSW Rogaining – Logo help required
Next year is the 30th year of NSW Rogaining Association. One of
the things we would like to have is a suitable logo to help
celebrate the occasion. We welcome all design contributions. Please
