G'day Rogainers,

Spring Rogaine & NSW Championships (8/24h) – Entries Closing Monday 10 October!

Thank you to all the people who have signed up for this year’s State Championships on 15-16th October, to be held in great sub-alpine countryside (nearly all above 1,000 metres) near Kanangra Walls, a site never previously used for rogaining. There are still 50-75 spaces available before we reach the maximum number of people permitted into the area.

The course guarantees to have its fair share of navigational and physical challenges but also easier routes for families and novices. David and Ronnie and their organising team have been working hard to put on a great event so there is no doubt that another memorable weekend of navigation will be had.

Note that there is a cap of 250 competitors to the event so get in get in quick!

You can use the contact address to volunteer as we always need helpers around the Hash House.

Call for Volunteers

We’re currently looking for an Event Organiser for the Socialgaine on 27th November – Lee Coady is setting a great course in Northern Sydney, so if you have the skills and time to take on this important role, send a quick email to Graham Field. If you’d like to have a go at being an organiser, but haven’t done it before, there’s always some wise hands available as mentors to make sure that all aspects of the role are ticked off.

The continued success, quality and safety of our events depends on people contributing their skills, time and energy to the association. See the volunteers calendar and if you’d like to put your hand up, or know more about roles, please get in touch with Graham, or contact the event organiser.

Volunteering is a great way to round out your rogaining experience and put something back into your sport.

Sydney Summer Series

As the cold winter months wrap up, we now approach the renowned Sydney Summer Orienteering Series on Wednesday nights between October and March. These are 45-minute “mini-rogaines,” though done individually, and are set on streets and in parklands in all areas of Sydney. Along with being great training for our larger events, they are a great way to have a mid-week break and explore a new part of Sydney.

The first event is on Wednesday 5 Oct in North Sydney so come along if you can!
