G'day Rogainers,
Autumn 6/12 hour Rogaine - 27 April Bungonia Area
Closing date for on-line entries now extended to 3am Thursday 25th April.
The leader of the course setting team for this event, Trevor Gollan wants to make sure you don't miss out on this one. He reports ...
"It's the most open bushwalking I have ever encountered in my 32 years of rogaining. Aged orienteers or participants in the 2001 NSW Rogaining Champs will have some familiarity with Bungonia-Inverary, but the bush is even more open than usual at the moment due to a NP&WS control-burn last month.
We have a user-friendly course with plenty of controls and few hill climbs. Throughout the course setting my mantra has been, "Is it nice walking?" And without exception the answer from the team (Ian, Dave & Watto) has been a resounding Yes.
Our hash house will be in the bush, a spacious flat area trimmed by the local macropods. It's a great time of year to get outside, April weather is usually stable and pleasant, at an altitude of about 600m the days should be warm and the night fresh. Let's hope so!"
