Socialgaine – Sunday 27th November – Enter your team!
Our final event for the year is always Social, a great 6 hour event for new and seasoned rogainers. Come and explore the bush trails, the waterways and a bit of history in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, in Sydney’s North.
Entries are open til Monday night 21st November, don’t miss out.
Spring Rogaine and NSW Champs Results - (Event report available!)
A “superb, classic rogaine” according to Chris Stevenson on the NSWRA Forum, the NSW Champs had friendly sub-alpine meadows and moors, sphagnum bogs, vertiginous drop-aways into the Kowmung valley, complex navigation and a warm, community ambience. There are also plenty of pics and reports on the event website.
Overall NSW champions, 2016 Julie Quinn & Susie Sprague (Also winners of women's and veteran's categories as well.)
Congratulations to Julie Quinn and Susan Sprague for winning the championship event. It’s the 7th time Julie has won the NSW Champs and the 2nd time for Susie, but the first time ever that a women’s team has won the Champs outright.
Also thanks to David Williams and Ronnie Taib for sharing such a lovely part of NSW and for creating such an entertaining, challenging course.
Website Changes for Volunteers
We’ve made some changes to the system and it's now easier than ever to throw your hat in to volunteer at an event.
Just pick an event from the table of Volunteers for Coming Events, then go to the NEW on-line Volunteer Registration form, fill in a few details and you’re on the fast-track to fulfilling a life-long ambition to set, vet, or even organise a rogaine. There’s plenty of other jobs to choose from as well if you don’t want one of the ‘sharp end’ roles first up. You can always email the volunteer coordinator, Graham Field, as well to register or ask any questions.
Volunteers who give up at least one full day of their time and their opportunity to participate in the event are eligible for a free entry on their next event or a $100 contribution to the cost of a relevant training course, such as first aid.
The 2017 event calendar is up, and there’s lots of spaces to fill – especially for Course Setters and Coordinators to get events started. For first timers, there’s a great depth of experience in the club to mentor you through the process.
Remember that our sport depends on volunteers to bring you these great events. It’s a great way to round out your rogaining experience, to explore new or favourite areas, and put something back into your sport
2017 Event Calendar
Our event dates for next year are set. More information on each of the events will be added to the events page as event organisers and course setters grab an event and lock in an event location.
