G'day [FIRST_NAME] [LAST_NAME],

Nightgaine next Saturday - 27th July

Don't watch Netflix, spend Saturday night with me

We are having our annual nightgaine next Saturday, 29th July. You can compete in the 3hr event solo, or you can compete as part of a team in either the 3 hour or 5 hour events.

Both the 3-hour and 5-hour events are suitable for all levels of experience. Whether it’s your first night event or you are an experienced competitor, the course provides a nice opportunity to hone your nocturnal navigation skills close to civilisation with a mix of streets, parks and trails.

Explore the beautiful pockets of remnant blue gum high forest along Terrys Creek and The Ponds Creek. These suburban sanctuaries are contrasted with the hustle-and-bustle of Eastwood’s Saturday night markets. For those venturing further westward, more tranquil walking trails and waterfalls await at Vineyard Creek and Hunts Creeks. The course will keep to marked trails as we pass through sensitive wildlife areas.

Lake Macquarie Entries are now open.

Team up and get your entry in for the 2024 Lake Macquarie rogaine. You have 6 or 12 hour options to choose from. This year the event will be held around the Onley State Forest and the Watagans National Park.

A plethora of wildlife has been seen on the map, from lyre birds, wallabies, black cockatoos, scratching of koalas, and bandicoots/ quolls have been seen. And evidence of wombats has been spotted as well.

Areas of tall open eucalypt, blue and spotted gums. Plus stands of tallow wood, turpentine and iron bark. And even one team has spotted a red cedar.

Beautiful rocky gullies and some open spurs on the map. And setters have tried to steer clear of the lawyer vine!.

Go west for the 2024 Australasian Rogaining Championships!

Lake Macquarie Entries are now open.

The Mysterious Traveller Rogaine

The 2024 Australasian Rogaine Championships will be hosted in WA on the weekend of 7th and 8th September 2024.

Where is the Mysterious Traveller? A mask, an old logging village, a Melburnian forester, and ochre springs. We may need to navigate complex river valleys (150m a.s.l. to 300m a.s.l.). There may be a few pines, but we are mostly in stunning Jarrah - Marri - Blackbutt forest. We leave the open Nannup farmlands of 2016 far behind. We have a very easy trip here - less than 3hrs south of Perth and less than 1hr Bunbury. For all travellers, far, near, mysterious or not, the Event Bus will take you on a magical tour from the airport to the event via a replenishing town. The Setting and Vetting team look forward to showing you some topographical mysteries!
