Description
The Lake Macquarie Rogaine returned to an area of the Watagan Mountains which hadn’t been used for at least 10 years. Once again the event was supported by Lake Macquarie City Council as part of the Lake Macquarie Games
The Watagan Mountain is west of Australia’s largest coastal salt water lake with the hash house location for this years event being The Old Mill Picnic Area which is only 2 hours north of Sydney. The area used was mostly in the Olney State Forest with beautiful rainforest, pristine creeks, friendly fauna and an extensive track network that allowed competitors the option of avoiding some of the navigation through dense vegetation
This popular event was an opportunity for novice competitors to gain experience in rogaining or night navigation while providing a challenge for the more experienced rogainers.
