Entries are now open for the 46th Paddy Pallin 6 hour rogaine to be held on Sunday 14 June 2009. Go to  "www.nswrogaining.org"  to enter on-line using your credit card. If you prefer you can print an entry form and post it in with your cheque or money order.

The organiser of the Paddy Pallin event, Trevor Gollan reports ...

The Paddy Pallin 6-hour is the City-to-Surf of rogaining; lots of healthy, social people in fresh, mid-winter conditions.

This year we return to a great area in the Shoalhaven, a lively mixture of big river, moderate to challenging mountains, and wonderful panoramas. The hash house is a commercial campground, with plenty of space and facilities.

It's notable that the last few Paddy Pallin rogaines (Rydal, Newnes Plateau) have been at altitude and experienced appropriate weather. Reports include such terms as "braving the cold", "colder than a stepmother's kiss", "damp, cold and rather windy".

This year the hash house is below the 20m contour - OK let's say sea level - so we don't expect such extreme weather. As usual there will be the option of camping on site Saturday night, with hearty dinner provided by Waitara Scouts.

For those who participated in the 1999 Paddy Pallin rogaine at Coolendel, come along and explore a different part of the course. If you weren't there, ask someone who was and they'll tell you it's worth the trip.

Volunteering

Please consider volunteering to help out at an event this year.  We can only keep putting on events if enough people volunteer. If you have done a few events and plan to do more, think about lending a hand. Contact Phil Whitten  (nswravc@gmail.com)  to ask about what you could do to help.
