G'day rogainers,
2011 Minigaine - The River Rumble - Sunday 20 March 2011
On-line entries for this event are now closed. If you didn't get your entry in on time, see the web site for details of how you can still enter on the day
The course will be located in the picturesque north western area near Brown's Waterhole, with a mix of bush tracks and local streets. It is a three hour event with a rolling start (you can start anytime from 12.30 pm to 3 pm), followed by a BBQ from around 5 pm. This is a great way to come and try rogaining or practice your navigation, and unlike most rogaines it will be held in either a team (2-5 members) or solo format. For more details see the event website.
The NSWRA AGM will be held in association with the Minigaine at 6.30 pm.
Calls are open to nominate for joining the committee.
The Warwick Marsden Award will presented at the AGM to recognise contributions to the sport of rogaining in NSW. To make a nomination for the Warwick Marsden Award, please contact the committee by email.
Autumn 24 & 15 in 24 hour - the Alpacagaine - 16-17th April
Course setters Graeme Cooper and Joel Mackay have been busy creating an course near Gundy, on the Pages River near Scone. It offers a mixture of scenic views, open farmland, native forest and lots of wildlife including the not so wild animals who have given their name to the event. Note that this event includes the full 24 hour event for the dedicated and the 15 in 24 (any 15 hours in that 24-hour period) for the time poor or those who like to catch some sleep. See the event website for how to enter and more details as they become available, including photos from the setters. Remember to use the partner finding and car pooling services if you want to find a team mate for the event or want to share transport.
The organisers are looking for two people to each tow one of the two association trailers from Toronto to the event site, in the Upper Hunter Valley. If you can help out please contact Joel Mackay.
Note some updated details for the ACTRA Cyclegaine - the event will be held on 3rd April (not 10th April) and is intended to be a multisport event see the ACTRA website for up to date details.
