Classic Sydney Metrogaine
"a navigator's paradise"
Over 300 people did not let sultry February conditions deter then from roaming around the Hills District and enjoying a classic Sydney Metrogaine. There were teams of all ages and experience from novices and juniors to some of the most experienced orienteers in New South Wales. The competion was tough.
Taking in Carlingford, Epping, Cheltenham, Beecroft, Pennant Hills and North Rocks the area was massive - a 12 hour metrogaine course said some - not to mention finding out just why it is called the Hills District.
Congratulations to Tom and Alina who despite missing the start by a few minutes stormed the course and clocked up some
4800 points. Many thanks go to Bronwyn and Paul Batten and all their team for a great course providing heaps of route choice plus watermelon and pizza to finish.
Check out the routes taken by a number of teams.
