Venue
The 2008 Australian Rogaining Championships
will be held at
Copeton Waters State Recreation Area near
Inverell in northern NSW. The course will include
the most spectacular reaches of the Gwydir River.
Transport
Coaches will run from Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane.
The Sydney coach will depart Central Railway Station on
Thursday at 8:30am, Hornsby at 10:30am,
Broadmeadow at 12:30pm. Expected arrival at Copeton
SRA is 6:30pm. There will be a lunch stop along the
way.
The return trip will depart Copeton SRA at 3:00pm Saturday.
There will be a 45 minute dinner stop along the way.
Expected arrival times are Broadmeadow at 10:15pm,
Hornsby at 00:30am, Central Station 01:30am Sunday morning.
The cost is $95 per person and you pay for this with your
on-line or postal entry.
The Brisbane coach will depart Brisbane airport at
1pm on Thursday. The return trip will depart Copeton
SRA at 8am on Sunday. The cost is $95 per person.

Thursday. Expected arrival at Copeton SRA is 7pm.
The return trip will depart Copeton SRA at at 2pm on
Saturday, arriving Canberra about 2am.
The coach will travel via Sydney (M7, M2, M3). The

Camping and Accommodation
Your entry fee includes basic camping from midday Thursday
to midday Sunday. Ample flat camp sites will be
available close to the Hash House. Amenities include
flush toilets and hot showers.
Cabins. The
SRA has a range of cabins you can hire. Contact them
directly to make your own booking. A part refund of
your entry fee
will be given at the event.
Bunk House. We have exclusive use of a bunk house from
midday Thursday to midday Sunday. It is located
adjacent to the Hash House. A place will cost $30 per
person. You must book before paying by phoning Andrew
& Belinda Pope on 02 9484 1736. Bookings will open
at 9am on Saturday 7th June.
What you get within the bunk house ...
- A bunk bed to sleep on, 8 persons per room.
- No linen or blankets.
- Toilets and hot showers.
- A large room for preparation.
- A kitchen you can use up until the start of the event.
Thursday Evening Meal
A meal consisting of a pizza, dessert and drink will be
available between 5pm and 10pm. The cost is $16 and you must pay for this
with your entry.

Family. Team members must all
belong to the one family and have at least one parent or
grandparent and one child under 18 years of age.

never have previously entered a rogaine.
In addition qualified University teams will
compete for the "Nigel
Aylott Intervarsity Trophy" and all teams who place will
contribute to their states success in the Interstate
Challenge.

A Late Fee of $10 per person applies after 1st August
2008. Entries close on 8th August 2008.
The concession discount on the entry fee is available to
those without a regular income including dependant children,
full time students, pensioners and those unemployed.
The definition
of a "Family" is "One or two adults plus any number of
dependant children each of whom looks to one or both of the
adults as a parent and who all live at the same address."
The application of this fee should not be confused with the
"Family" competition category. A team can have members of a
family who pay the Family maximum together with other
unrelated persons paying the normal entry fees.
Membership
Anyone can enter this event. It is now NSWRA policy that if
you are not a member of another state association you will
be made a member of NSWRA when you enter an event. There is no extra fee to
pay.
Course Description
The terrain ranges from easy walking open areas through
forest with numerous marked roads to a large mostly forested
area of complex topography with large granite features and
few marked road. The forest are an interesting mix of
Native Cypress, Box, Ironbark, Figs and Kurrajongs.
The map will be based on the 1980 issue 1:25000 topo with
10m contours. Use has been made of Google Earth and other
techniques to update features such as vegetation, roads,
dams and buildings. Contours and creeks have been
corrected in the vicinity of a number of controls.
